Job Title
Manager OR Senior Manager Safety
Location/Unit:Dahej
Reporting to
Site Head and Corporate Safety Head
B. Purpose of Position
To develop and implement the Systems for Agro site located in Dahej. Ensure compliance with organizational & statutory specifications and standards; Responsible for creation of a conducive, safe & healthy work environment and ensuring safety of personnel, environment and process. To monitor the implementation of Health & Safety systems to minimize the risk and enhance safety of plant, personnel and environment for Dahej Agro site
C. Responsibilities
1. Implementation, maintaining Responsible Care and ISO 45001 management system and ensure these systems are followed at site.
2. Develop & implement Safety Manual as per the organizational framework of risk management philosophy
3. Formulate the working plan for creating awareness of safety and implement Responsible Care related strategies to minimize accidents and incidents at the plant and outside of factory premises.
4. Develop the department budget and ensure adherence to the same
5. Assess EHS risks through appropriate method and undertake corrective action /precautionary measures to minimize potential risks
6. Emergency response preparedness to be strengthened so as to meet any eventuality at any time.
7. Ensure operations and projects activities are carried out safely with demarcations and no overlapping occurs. Carry out surveys, audits and analyze the trends and formulate action plans to improve on any issues/concerns for good EHS management
8 .Drive EHS promotional campaigns and involve internal stakeholders to drive interest and motivation
9. Organize and conduct training programs on EHS systems, regulations and policies; Guide team to conduct practical demonstrations on the usage of safety equipment
10. Work closely with all internal departments to conduct mandatory safety meetings and management review meetings on a regular basis
11. Ensure adherence to statutory safety requirements by all workers & contract labor
12. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and for associated inspections at the sites/units
13. Review and analyze accident investigation reports and monthly statistical reports; Recommend and implement action plans to prevent recurrence of such accidents
14. Drive the maintenance of a MIS of RC, PSM, inspection documents, certifications and other related documentation:
Ensure timely submission of all documents to the concerned authorities/departments
15. Develop/update department SOPs & safety Manual; Lead the development of a framework for EHS inspections & certifications.
F. Role Requirements/Specifications
Desired Qualifications 1.
Basic: Msc Chemistry, Diploma chemical or Engineering degree in Chemical
2. Professional: ADIS or PDIS from recognised Institute.
Desired Experience
5-10 years of industry experience. Minimum 2 years' experience in the role of safety head.
Skills
Well versed with MS office and adequate skill to communicate in English
